"De-Integrate!" Book Tour with Max Czollek and Jon Cho-Polizzi

January 12, 2023 in Events

Come celebrate the publication of German poet and political scientist Max Czollek’s fierce and funny polemic, De-Integrate! A Jewish Survival Guide for the 21st Century. Czollek argues that Germany's Jews and other minorities should resist the downward pressure to integrate themselves into the (white, Christian) mainstream. The book speaks eloquently to the situation of minorities and refugees in America and the world over who've been assimilated with reluctance, neglect, or outright hatred or violence—and only with the expectation that they and their descendants will modify their "ethnic" culture and behavior to fit in. Instead, it is through embracing our radical differences that we can realize our pluralistic potential and counter the dangerous rise of nationalism.
